Public Space Branding
The Tippecanoe County Public Library aims to connect the Lafayette area with entertainment, enrichment, and education. They offer classes, events, storytimes, book clubs, and much more to people of all ages
and interests to encourage lifelong learning. This new visual identity captures the diversity of services available, while also giving a modern rebranding to an established community treasure.
Current design assets
Here are the current design assets. The graphics lack consistency, and I would like a more modern and sophisticated look and feel to the brand. However, I like the fun aspect of the design, so I wanted to find a way to blend the fun and established feelings of learning that would appeal to kids, teens, and adults.

Initial sketches
I sketched out some Ideas of how I wanted to redesign the logo. I focused mainly on book shapes and all the different ways I could represent the magic of books alongside the type. At this point, I began choosing my favorites and refining them.

Logo design
I decided on this lettermark concept with abstract book shapes in the negative space of the staggered letters after lots of feedback and consideration.

Website home page
I wanted the home page of the TCPL website to be a welcoming landing page/preview for all the library has to offer. The user can easily access the library’s resources and get a glimpse at other services and events without feeling overwhelmed or confused.

External signage
This outdoor sign uses a pattern full of creative icons that represent the library’s services, as well as a quote about reading to attract people to the space.

Library merch
These designs would be for library goers to show their support and utilize its services. They each incorporate the pattern and logo so that they feel connected.
